About Us
Who We Are
Vision
To see the total evangelization of South Asia in our lifetime through the mobilization of all of God’s people, the Church.
Mission
To make disciples who make disciples, who become a living and active Gospel-witness everywhere they go so that every person in every place may see, hear and respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8).
About DMD
DMD stands for Disciples Making Disciples and is the heartbeat of all we do. Our focus is being disciples of Jesus who make disciples of Jesus.
Jesus’ final instructions to His disciples before ascending to the Father is known as the Great Commission. It is a call to be His disciples, make disciples, and spread the Gospel to all peoples (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15). It involves being a Jesus-follower and living a Gospel-centered life, where all that we are and do testifies to the Good News found in Jesus Christ everywhere we go (Acts 1:8).
To be a disciple of Jesus is to be a devoted follower of Jesus, who walks with Him, submitting to Him, learning from Him, putting into practice what He teaches, and being on mission with Him. Discipleship is relationally based with God and others and missionally driven for a lost world in need of Christ (Mark 3:14).
Where We Work
We are focused in South Asia, the red region on the map, clearly representing the highest percentage of unreached peoples in the world. South Asia comprises 25% of the world’s population, with high receptivity to the Gospel, yet despite these statistics, it receives the least amount of support and oversees mission workers.
“How can they believe in Him if they have never heard about Him?” – Romans 10:14
What We Believe
Our Core Values
Kingdom Focused – We exist for God’s glory and to magnify His name. It is His Kingdom we serve to advance, partnering with diverse churches and organizations, towards the global mission to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth. (Isaiah 43:21; Matthew 24:14, 25:31; Luke 17:21; Ephesians 1:20-21)
Biblically Grounded – The Bible is the inspired Word of God and our authority in all matters. God has given His Word to guide, teach, and train His people. It is the Scriptures we look to as we disciple believers, equipping them for the work of the ministry. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12)
Gospel-centered – Christ is our life and message. The Good News is not only are we forgiven and accepted by God, but His Spirit is forming Christ’s image in us so that others might see Him through us. (Romans 1:16; 2 Corinthians 3:18; Galatians 2:20; Colossians 2:6-7, 3:3-4)
Spirit-led – Through prayer we seek God through His Spirit, ask for His guidance, and discern His will. We recognize that only the Spirit can move in the hearts of people and produce lasting fruit. (Zechariah 4:6; John 15:4-5, 16, 26-27; 16:8-11)
Relationally-based – As disciples of Jesus we are called into relationship with Him and one another, following Jesus as His life-long learners and together on mission with Him. We are devoted to a Person, Jesus. Therefore, what we do flows out of who we are. (John 13:34-35, 15:1-17, 17:20-23; Romans 12:4-5; Colossians 3:1-17)
Missionally-driven – As disciples of Jesus, we have been commissioned – empowered by God for a mission. DMD is committed to making disciples who make disciples and planting churches that plant churches, using easily reproducible and sustainable models for lasting movements. (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; 2 Corinthians 5:18-20; 2 Timothy 2:2)
Statement of Faith
The Word of God – We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21).
The Trinity – We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons, that these are equal in every divine perfection, and that they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence, and redemption (Genesis 1:1-3, 26; John 1:1-3).
God the Father – We believe in God the Father, the infinite Creator, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of each person, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ (John 3:16-17; 1 Timothy 2:3-6).
Jesus Christ – We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, and teachings. We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and personal visible return to earth. (Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:32-33; John 20:30-31; 2 Corinthians 5:3-4, 21; Hebrews 4:14-16; 9:28)
The Holy Spirit – We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ, and that He is an abiding helper, teacher, and guide. (John 14:16-17; 16:7-11; 1 Corinthians 3:16; 2 Corinthians 3:18)
The Church – We believe in the universal church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons are members. We believe in the local church, consisting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible profession of faith, and associated for worship, work, and fellowship. We believe that God has laid upon the members of the local church the primary task of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world. (Mark 16:15; Romans 12:4-5; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; Ephesians 2:14-22)
The Last Things – We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, the renewal of creation, the eternal joy of the righteous, and the endless suffering of the wicked. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10; Revalation 20:11-15; 21:1-8)
We agree with the doctrinal and missiological viewpoints outlined in the Lausanne Covenant.
